My bullmastiff is extreeeeeemly lazy in the house. Try and get her to play with me and the other two sometimes and she just gives us daggers and sighs. She is totally the opposite when I take her out. As soon as she is on the other side of the door, she turns into.......Duracell Dawg!!!! She loves licking people to death. I have Charlie, a red Bullmastiff, he's nearly 7 years old he can be stubborn at times, its in the breeding as with licking people to death  Charlie loves Emma, my 2 year old daughter.....she climbs all over him and walks him round the house by his collar, hes such a big baby :D Having a brindle girl, hopefully later on this year, depending on whether my friends girls take  She got mother and daughter, Poppy and Lilly who she should be expecting pups from. The sire is brindle who is doing very well in the show ring. Such a gentle giant he is too. I am going to be showing for the first time with help from friends. I adore the breed as everyone knows here  Kathy - Dharma is a gorgeous girl, you must be so proud of her. Whose her breeder, might know of them ? Title: Re: Bullbreeds / Mastiffs / Cavalier KCS Post by: blue on February 10, 2007, 07:19: PM Hi Louise I have a bullmastiff that is crossed with some anonymous type of terrier, got him from a shelter-so will never know what type of terrier. He was 2 yrs old (got him last year) and was NEVER trained, so you can imagine trying to start on him. I have read on bullmastiff sites that they can be content with not as much excercise, hence probably the laying around when at home, but yes they love to run around when they are out. Am getting better on the training, however my dog is very very strong, and has occassionally lurched forward on his leash big time - caught me off guard last weekend, and I went down on the sidewalk for the ride, scraping my hands and knees - no moment of inattention while walking him! As soon as I feel him lurching, wondering if anyone has any advice what I should do immediately? Grab his collar and pull him back and a firm "no?" Or stop, or what? Can't afford for this to happen again, as it really hurt.I also have a Bulmastif (Mea) who has just turned one I Think the breed is so sweet for hte size of them. I also have a 10 wek old Staff x called Razor he is a real bundle of fun. Just out of interest how lively is you mastiff when at home mine seem depressed as just sleeps or lies down (sometimes this is a good thing) Look forward to speaking again regards Drewcat Title: Re: Bullbreeds / Mastiffs / Cavalier KCS Post by: Dollydipstick on February 16, 2007, 11:43: AM Hi
I have a 14 month old staffie and a 5 month old British bulldog. We recently lost a cross mastiff/boxer. I just lurve any of the 'bull' breeds. We are looking to get another pup, but we just wait to see what crosses our path from the dogs home... we always get rescue dogs. |
