Title: Newbies in desperate need of advice... Post by: grumpydog on January 02, 2007, 11:59: AM Hi all,
My girlfriend moved in with me in my flat 4 weeks ago with her two male dogs, a Shar Pei (male, neutered long time ago, rescue, approx 8 years old, she's had him for 4.5 years) and a French Bulldog (male, 18 months, neutered 2 weeks ago in an attempt to help with our situation, she's had him since puppy) and they behaved perfectly for the first two weeks (and had when they lived with her before apart from the odd scrap)... Since then the FB keeps staring at the SP and growling so that they end up locked on to each other. The only way to stop them really hurting each other seems to be to keep them tied up with a box in between them so they can't see each other. Otherwise we are dragging them apart a few times a day.... they are absolutely fine together when we take them out for walks (4 per day), however. The FB has also growled at us a couple of times (in a less threatening way..) We had a trainer come round but she didn't give us a lot to go on. We are moving into a house in a few weeks and are expecting a baby in early May so we really can't have them fighting then. We don't want to have to re-home one of them but are at a loss as to what to do right now. We've heard it can take some time for the hormones to settle down after neutering but it seems like perhaps we have done something/are doing something to cause this or make it worse. It seems too much of a coincidence to be happening since the move... Any advice, or recommendations for a trainer experienced in dealing with these types of problems would be greatly appreciated...We are becoming desperate! Many thanks....
