Actually, I personally wouldn't necessarily (ooh - adverb city) deduct points from posters I disagreed with - though I probably would if I thought the post was irresponsible, ill-researched or plain malicious. Healthy debate is good. Single-mindedness and malice towards members who disagree with a given position is not. But that's just me! On Dooyoo and Ciao, you can 'trust' people, and rate people's reviews. The etiquitte is that you don't downrate a review because you disagree with the opinion, but rather you rate how useful the review is to a potential consumer of the product or service being reviewed. I shall find out if it's possible to remove the ability to detract points. Can be very misleading I feel and can be open to abuse when 'board politics' come into the mix. Fortunately, we don't have any of that here as far as I'm aware :)
