Title: ME AND MY NEW DOG MISTY Post by: princessclark on February 17, 2007, 07:44: PM HELLO, IM EMMA AND I AHVE JUST BROUGHT A 2 YEAR OLD COLLIE YESTERDAY. SHE'S REALLY WELL TRAINED AND REALLY HYPER LOL. MY PARENT'S HAD A COLLIE WEN I WAS A BABY UP UNTIL I WAS 3. THE ONLY PROBLEM WE'V FOUND WE MITE HAVE WITH HER IS THAT SHE CAN B A BIT SNARLLY WITH OTHER DOGS. I WAS WALKIN HER EARLIER AND A DOG THAT WAS OFF THE LEAD CAN UP AND SNIFFED HER WHILE SHE WAS ON HER LEAD AND SHE GOT SNAPPY WITH IT, BUT WHEN WE WALKED PAST IT LATER ON AND IT WAS ON THE LEAD SHE WASN'T BOTHER BY IT AND IGNORED IT. THE PROBLEM THERE IS THAT WHEN ME AND MY HUSBAND GO TO STAY WITH EITHER OF OUR PARENTS THEY BOTH HAVE DOGS AND IF THEY DNT GET ALONG WE CNT GO AND VISIT THEM AS SHE WUDN'T BE ABLE TO CUM WITH US.
CAN SUM BODY PLEASE GIVE ME SUM SUGGESTION OF WHAT MITE HELP AS WHEN WE BROUGHT HER WE WERE ASURED SHE WAS FINE WITH OTHER DOGS!!! When a off lead dog encounters another dog on the lead it may feel a bit scared and they cant run away...So if he felt theatened he'l so show aggression to scare the other dog off. When he say the other dog later as it was on the lead there would be no reason to be scared so he wasnt interested. I would introduce your parents dogs gently so your dog doesnt get scared and lash out...Hope this helps! :smile:
