When they are born are they fluffy and furry and then does their coat turn smooth and slick?

No ninampnc, Boxer puppies are not born fluffy/furry.  Here's a picture of newborn Boxer pups

Your bitch has been caught by a different breed/crossbreed, I hope you manage to find homes for the pups.  Whereabouts are you in the country?  Perhaps one of your local rescue centres will help you find them homes if you get stuck.

Do yourself and your bitch a favour once this litter have been weaned and get her spayed.  Breeding is not for the inexperienced, especially not a breed in which so many hereditary defects can arise.

it isnt about the money,i dont need extra money,as were living very comfetable thank you,its about letting my dog have a litter, which will be beautiful pups and what is wrong with that?it just so happens that one of the two males got there first and we rang the vets straight away and followed there advice,i aint a cruel person who would dump puppys so get the negative thoughts out your heads

You've said the dog which managed to tie with your bitch is not a rescue dog.  Which means the other male is.  So you were actually planning to have your rescue dog father the litter instead.  Which rescue did  you get your male from?

Why are you allowing your bitch to have a litter?  There are crossbreeds in rescues nationwide where these vetted homes you're planning to sell puppies to can adopt a needy dog.  Think about it this way - your are costing dogs homes, which could mean your costing them their lives.

As I've mentioned before, and as you must be aware since you already have one rescue dog, the unwanted dog situation in this country is dire.  There simply are not enough homes.  Perfectly rehomeable family dogs are killed EVERY SINGLE DAY in pounds.  Until people like yourself take note of what is going on around them, and DON'T breed left right and centre just because they can, the situation will never improve.

Your bitch is too old at 7 years to have a litter.  It could kill her.  Listen and understand this, and take her to be spayed.

You are yet another person who is out to make a fast buck out of their dogs.  Don't pretend you're anything but.  There's only one reason to deliberately breed that sort of cross, and that reason is money.  You disgust me!

Get yourself down to your local dog pound and take a long look at the crossbreeds in there.  Ask yourself how many will still be alive after one week!  People like YOU make this situation worse, breeding litters for the sake of it, for money with no regard for the dogs.  Have your bitch neutered, and get yourself a better vet!  7 years of age is most definately too old to have a litter, especially considering she's a mastiff x.

Oh you wanted to get your bitch pregnant?  Tell me, do you understand the magnitude of the stray/unwanted dog population in this country?

Do your poor bitch a favour and get her neutered now, whether she's pregnant or not.  Don't be so irresponsible!! There are plenty of good breeders nationwide, breeders that know what they are doing and are not in it for the money.  Leave it to them!

Willow [the ginger tabby girl] was petrified of the dogs when she first turned up here.  We let her understand in her own time that they wouldn't hurt her.  We adopted our dogs knowing they were good with cats already [apart from Tarot, he's scared of them that's why I've no pics of him and the kitties together Laughing], there are many dogs in rescue that have lived with cats their whole lives!

I think it would be best for me to get a puppy because i have two cats, one who is wary of dogs.  i have been trying to find a puppy for my uncle form a rescue center in manchester and it took me ages to find any and they were all gone within 2 hours. is there a time when puppies are more common?
xx

We have three dogs here, all rescues.  We also have two cats!

There are many many dogs in rescue that are absolutely fine with them Smile

13  The DogChat.co.uk Discussion Forum / General Dog Chat / Castration on: September 08, 2005, 09:46: PM
There are thousands of homeless labradors nationwide, it would not be the responsible thing to do to find a female to"fulfill his needs", the responsible thing to do would be to have him castrated.

It won't change his temperament or character, he may be a little calmer but that's certainly not guaranteed!

The following link illustrates exactly why neutering is so necessary, please visit it, and ask your mum to take a look too

The best thing to do imho would be to visit a few local rescue centres.  Describe your living/family arrangements, experience and any requirements and they may have the perfect addition to your family already Smile
