Poor Bailey. Sad

That is good advice that you have been given.   After a visit to the vets to be on the safe side, i would try another light diet.  He might just not like it.

Hope things improve soon Smile

remember to remove all fish tanks right out of the area before you spray your house.  fish can die very quickly if exposed to even the tiniest amount of spray.

I'm very glad your dog is ok and you know what the problem is now.

I just about to reply telling you that your dog may have hurt his back!  The exact same thing happend to my cocker cross when she was only 18 months old.

But the really good news is that, i rested her very well as instucted for 6 weeks as instructed an she is now 11 yrs old and has NEVER had it happen to her again!

Good Luck
8  The DogChat.co.uk Discussion Forum / New Dog Owners / our puppy bites my son on: October 08, 2004, 02:46: PM
it may be that your puppy sees your son as his peer and therefore tries to encourage him to play by nipping him, like when you see dogs and puppies playfighting all the time.  you can tell the puppy off (using body language alone) when he nips you, but as you say your son does not understand, so your puppy things it is ok to pursue this game.

he will eventually grow out of it, but of course that does not help your son in the meantime.  you could try physically moving your son, with mininal fuss every time your puppy goes to do this. your puppy should eventually get bored with this and avert his attentions elsewhere.  every time he averts his attention, give him a ridiculous amount of praise and love and treats!

i'm not a trainer or anything, so please do not see my advice as anything more that that, but it worked for me in a similar situation.

hope that helps.

9  The DogChat.co.uk Discussion Forum / General Dog Chat / Anyone know a good dog friendly beach? on: October 08, 2004, 01:51: PM
FOR EVERYBODY'S ATTENTION.  ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES I HAVE EVERY BEEN TO.....DAYMER BAY IN NORTH CORNWALL.  It is completley dog friendly and it is not the usual crappy littered, shingled smelly beach usually reserved for dogs and their owners.

It is truly breathtaking.

10  The DogChat.co.uk Discussion Forum / General Dog Chat / Can you ever give away a dog you really love? on: October 08, 2004, 01:43: PM
It's not an easy decision, and it has to be somebody really selfless and brave to do it.

I am so pleased I joined today! so much information.

In my local area there is a company called Canine Kitchen.

Their website is: www.caninekitchen.co.uk

They will deliver to anywhere in the UK.

I think their website is ready now, i'm not sure.

They make their treats out of human grade ingredients, no additives and stuff.  My dogs love them, they do a cheese and broccoli biscuit that all of my dogs go nuts for.  They do other flavours too.

I know the woman who does it and they are bringing out a sweet range and a jerky range soon too.

They really care about dogs and have 3 of their own, and decided to start up to provide treats without 'poison' in them, as she puts it!

Hope that helps.

In my local area, there is a company called Canine Kitchen.

They have a website:    www.caninekitchen.co.uk

They sell fantastic homemade treats, really affordable, at our club we all swear by them.

I used to make my own, but it is a lot less hassle to buy them, especially as I have 5 dogs!
