this happens often especially if the stud dog is exceptional,  also so in breeds with small gene pools

i use a Pearson and Mason brush. 

but the comb thingy i use hasnt got any name on it.  cost about a fiver from a dog show.  Certainly rips into the dead coat.

i've had a dog some years that needed them emptied frequently, in the end we decided it would be better for her to have them removed, which she did , and she was fine.

its not really a brush more a comb i suppose.  rather lethal looking thing.

the one i use is probably more suitable for a rough collie or a breed with a similar coat. would not be ideal for  a lab.

Ryan.  cheat and buy some Aunt Bessies.  2mins in the microwave and hey presto.  and very nice they are too.
