2  The DogChat.co.uk Discussion Forum / Non Dog Related / It hurts! on: May 08, 2005, 03:26: PM
I love to ride. I've been riding for about 3 or 4 years. One time I was riding and you know, I couldn't do anything except walk without my ankle hurting really bad. Eventually I figured the problem was that my stirrup was too short. LOL. At the beginning it felt like the stirrups were the right length but they weren't. I'll never make that mistake again

Ok, I'll try that. See, the thing is that shes a hunting dog and we just aren't hunting people. So its in her nature to always want to play fetch and stuff. But it really does get annoying
4  The DogChat.co.uk Discussion Forum / Breed Specific / Labradoodles on: May 08, 2005, 04:30: AM
I don't have a labradoodle but I do have a different mixed breed. My 1 year old springer spaniel/ border collie mix is Astra. Shes excellent. We adopted her from a shelter that I volunteer at. She gets along great with our other dog, Pippin though she is the dominant dog of the house. She can be a bit naughty at times. Astra finds it wonderful to steal food of the counter so we have to be very careful not to leave any food on the counter that she could jump up and reach. Overall though, shes just a great dog. I love her so much. Who says a dog has to be purebred to be great?
5  The DogChat.co.uk Discussion Forum / In Memorium / In loving memory of Zoe on: May 08, 2005, 04:25: AM
Zoe was a wonderful dog. She was always there for me. She lived her life to the fullest. Sometimes escaping from our backyard, but always enjoying the freedom. At the age of 14, Zoe had a stroke in the middle of the night. She was paralyzed. It hurt me so bad to see her standing there with a faraway look in her eyes. This wasn't my Zoe. My Zoe was clearly already gone. Zoe could hardly walk after the stroke. She couldn't eat, for half of her was paralyzed. I was in great pain to have to leave her to go to school. This couldn't be happening to Zoe. Zoe, the dog who had been in my life since the beginning. But it was true. In the end, we had to put her to sleep. I will never forget the beloved shiba inu, a wonderful companion, and a great dog-Zoe.
6  The DogChat.co.uk Discussion Forum / Breed Specific / Shiba Inus? on: May 08, 2005, 04:18: AM
Do any of you have a shiba inu? Not that common of dogs so I was wondering if anyone had one. One of our dogs is a wonderful black and tan shiba named Pippin. and does anyone have some questions about shibas? I'm sure I could help.   Smile

My one-year old dog, Astra is fetch obsessed. I love to play fetch with her, but not all the time. When we are having dinner, watching tv, or anything, she always wants to play fetch. She'll put a ball or other toy in someone's lap and then sit and wait for us to throw it. If we don't throw it she'll grab the toy and put just put it on our lap again. If we still don't throw it, she'll bark and whine. What can I do so that we aren't constantly being bugged to play fetch?
