They can be given after you have made 50 posts. They are designed to give people who are new to the boards or people who just browse info as to the general opinion of the poster by the rest of the board. In general they do appear to work although not everyone likes them.

Has anyone ever seen that film 'The Doberman Gang' ?

How many other breeds got a whole film named after them I wonder.

I think I'll have to do just that. I thought I might have got them this morning but no, still no pancakes for me. Whatever it is I've done it must be bad.

I suppose I can look on the bright side. The ingredients are all still in the house and it wasn't me getting battered.

Didn't get any, not a single one. I was promised some as well so I can only presume I must have done something wrong and am being taught a lesson by my pancakes being withheld.

7  The DogChat.co.uk Discussion Forum / Canine Health Concerns / Re: Flatcoat Retriever being sick on: February 20, 2007, 09:55: PM
Hi there Mike,

I too have a dog who is prone to bouts of sickness for no obvious reason. Fortunately she is not thin. I always noticed that anything warm could make her sick and if she ate her food very cold (colder than room temp) she wouldn't be sick. You could try it and see how it goes by putting his food in the fridge for a few minutes just before giving him his food. Sounds odd but it did work for me.

We covered this and got in touch with Google, who are a very dog friendly company. Hopefully they be more aware now that this is happening.

11  The DogChat.co.uk Discussion Forum / General Dog Chat / DogChat's Official Tickets for Crufts Competition on: February 20, 2007, 03:05: PM
Thinking of going to Crufts?

Prefer not to have to pay the entrance fee?

Then take part in DogChat's official win free Crufts tickets competition.

We have 10 tickets in total to give away in 5 pairs.

To be in with a chance of winning, within this thread create your own future Crufts champion.

Using the best characteristics of at least 6 different pedigree breeds (you can use more than 6 but no less than 6) I am looking for a brand new breed which could become the Labrador, Poodle or GSD of tomorrow.

Your breed must factor in genetic issues and balance them out (i.e. you could use a Labrador to try and attain a certain temperament trait but would need to balance this out with a breed not carrying hip problems - you need to explain your reasons for including the breeds you choose)

Your breed should be given a unique name and the winning 5 breeds should be a perfectly thought out mix of health, ability, character, function and compatibility.

We'll name the winners by this time next week and will get in touch privately to get details regarding where to send tickets to.
Good luck.

(If you need any help on breed facts and figures, take a look at http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/item/210 | For more information on Crufts dog show see http://www.crufts.org.uk/)

Thanks for the reply ryan, I think i'll pop along to my local rescue centre at the weekend to see if they've heard of dogsblog and try to get them on board (they're lovely people but are more dog literate than computer literate!)

Hi Katy,

I've been told that we are working with Deerness and we're getting their DogsBlog account all set up!

See, that's the attitude I honestly expected. I fully understand and acknoweldge how many people are anti P&G. There are certain companies who I have a massive distaste for and I reflect that via my purchasing decisions. If one of those companies was the main sponsor of a program which helped to rehabilitate injured children or save endangered species or something I couldn't comprehend boycotting that and encouraging others to do the same.

Let them know we'll be happy to do all the technical work on their behalf. I like it best when we deal with shelters who's main priorities lie with the animals first. We'll be glad to offer any assistance they need.
