This will be the fourth Disc Dog Day in this country, and it is being held on Saturday 23rd September
Start about 9am with a round of training/practice
[Everyone gets 3 minutes to either have practice on there own with there dog or with me there offering advice to them and their dog - they don't get advice from me after there third event]
10.30am quick break for a cuppa and to socialise a little
11.am The OPEN competition. The handleres and dogs have to score as many points as possible during two minutes, and points are scored by how they catch the disc and by how far the disc has travelled before it was caught It doesn't matter if it isn't caught as points are still given for a retrieve, but not as many are given.
12.30pm Lunch Break
1.30pm The Handicapped competition, same as above but the dog and handler get a handicapp which is added on to there final score.
The handicap is worked out by how many points they were behind the winner of the OPEN. If they were 30 points short of the winner of the OPEN then they will get a handicap worth 9 tenths of this, and as 9/10ths of 30 is 27 the handicap would be 27
3pm Handout rosettes ( 1st to 4th in both competitions)
Most disc dog days run around an hour later than this but we have to be done by 4pm on this one.
