I probably not the best person for advice about this type of behaviour in dogs because i have never experienced it, you need to make your mark as the pack leader as soon as you get your dog, when i got my dog i started straight away. i pretend to eat her food before i give it to her (pack leaders always eat first) i walk through doors first ect ect.
When your dog gets aggresive have you tried leaving the room and giving your dog time out, normally people would put the dog in a other room but obviously you should not pick up a dog thats growling at you so i would try saying no in a stern voice and then just walk out the room he will eventually get the message.
good luck

thanks for the replies everyone, i'm just stuck on what to feed my dog i would like to give her a varied diet but its so hard. she eats bakers puppy food, chicken, turkey, past and rice (not all at the same time lol). i dont really want to give her dog meat as i heard the stuff they put in it isnt very healthy for the dog.

Can dog eat ready brek? they say porridge is good for you but is it good for dogs, i would like to give my dog a nice breakfast on a morning and since i eat ready brek i was just wondering can my dog eat it, but obviously i would not make the ready brek with milk it would be made with water.

I would have to say being a jack russell owner that jack russell are my favorite breed of dog they are very, very intelligent i have no problem training my jack russell. I learned her how to sit within a week of bringing her home.  She is now 8mths old and knows lots of commands and tricks. She makes me so proud and we always work well as a team.
