There are aggressive Yorkies and there are non aggressive pit bulls.   It is all down to genetics and environmental upbringing.  Each case needs to be judged individually.  But, at the end of the day, it is not the dog's fault.  Human interference is what causes problems from irresponsible ownership and mismanagement.   And the way some people treat dogs for their own benefit rather from the benefit of the dog.

Anyone that owns any type of dog should do their very best to ensure the happiness of that dog and ensure it does not cause any unhappiness to any other dog or dog owner.

You can use the same technique but instead of the cheese, use games, play, chase, massive cuddles (whatever turns your dog on) as the reward.

Only use the very favourite reward for successful recall.

It's only half the story though. Dogs are interactive creatures, ie they like to be included. Many owners take their dogs out, let 'em off lead and more or less forget about them until they want them to come back to them. Quickest way to successful recall, involve yourself in your dog's walk. Search with him - it's amazing what you can sniff out that they can't Smile (a hidden treat/toy etc). There are all sorts of games you can play to keep him interested in you, and it's when that interest is there that successful recalls are likely. The more successful recalls you get, the more conditioned the request becomes. Sound long winded?? Nope, dogs love to be with interesting owners.

Yes!

5  The DogChat.co.uk Discussion Forum / Diet / Re: urgent help with puppy required on: February 08, 2007, 11:38: PM
she has been on beta puppy and scrambled egg for 1 week now and she had hard stools, gained weight and height and her coat has gone smooth and soft again. I am hoping this is the food for her, im going to leave her 1 more week then take her vets to get her weighed and checked over, but so far she is great on it and she really enjoys it. Also she is walking on her lead and her aggression she had to people is getting better. I wouldnt say she is ever going to be a realy big dog but im just glad she seems ok.

Beta is not normally a food I would recommend but if its working then stick to it.

Raw eggs and raw green tripe.  Very yummy for dogs.  Not just on their own though.  I also give bones and veggies and the occasional meal of commercial food [various but based on no added colour].

I make my own dogs diet which varies from day to day.   I do feed commercial sometimes and then I give my dog Burns, JWB or Nature Diet.

It is possible to train without shock collars Toba.   May take a bit longer but so what.

Better to be a troll than be taken to court for racist behaviour. Rolling Eyes

Whatever you do do not tell the dog off as this will add to his anxiety.  The best thing to do IMO is to get Bulgarian people to throw the dog a tasty treat as they walk past.  Your dog will then associate Bulgarian people with nice things.
