1  The DogChat.co.uk Discussion Forum / Canine Health Concerns / Retriever weeing a lot on: February 22, 2007, 06:06: PM
Can anyone help? Took my dog out today and she did one big wee (think this was because she had been in for a while) then she stopped about 5 times on the walk for a stop and a wee which is a bit unusual. She seems fine in herself I mentioned this to someone and they said she may have an infection. How will I know what are the signs apart from weeing a lot. It may be nothing but I am a bit worried. Can anyone help I have been looking on the internet and have frightened myself seeing what it could be. Thanks for your time.
2  The DogChat.co.uk Discussion Forum / Diet / advice on changing dog food on: February 15, 2007, 01:56: PM
Hi
Can you tell me if I am changing my dogs food over correctly. She is currently on Royal canine tinned and I am changing to Hills science diet for sensitive tummys. I have only started this morning and slightly reduced the tinned portion and put a little of the hills with it. Do i just increase over a week to the Hills food and will she be ok. The tinned is working out £2 a tin and she needs 3 tins a day so I have to change it over.
Thanks

Hi Can anyone tell me is once a dog has colitis is it possible to recover if the cause was through an operation on her bowel. My poor doggie is slightly better but keeps having accidents which she hates as she thinks she has been naughty I dont tell her off but also dont want her to think its ok to poo in the house. When I told the vet she said give it a bit more time then come back but what might she do. She is our first dog and although we have had her 5 years have never experienced this before. I feel very alone with the problem can anyone help. By the way I love all the pics of the dogs on here I havent managed to work out how to put Honeys on will have a go. Thanks all you dog lovers. Happy Valentines day to you all! :

Thanks for that I will look at the website its just something someone said may help this tinned food she is on is so expensive I need to find something that will suit her but I can afford. If it comes to it I will stick with the tinned and just take out another mortgage to pay for it. Thanks

Hi All
Saw vet today she said to keep her on this tinned food for now and let her tum settle if the diahorrea has not stopped by Wednesday I have to ring her she does not want to give anything to make her go the other way as this is how it all started. Its the accidents that are difficult I know she cant help it but we have cream carpet all the way through(yes I know but they were here when we moved) and it just stains badly. I just her better, she doesnt seem to want to go for walks keeps stopping. Someone suggested Burns food does anyone know anything about that and where I can get it. Thanks for all your support it helps to know I can share !

Hi What a wonderful web site just found it. Where do I start. Our 5 year old Goldie has been ill for a week or more. Was diagnosed with constipation which I thought ok this is not to bad. But after 3 ememas and laxatives and 4 days and nights in the vet they had to operate and get some rock hard poo out. She has a kind of colitis now which the vet said has been caused by all what has been done to her. My worry is now her poo is runny and mixed with blood has got better over the last 3 days but not normal she has also had a few accidents in the house which is not like her. Also she has been on the same food a sensative control one which you can only get from the vets and now will have to change it as that must of been what caused the constipation. What food should she have she is having a tinned one at the moment but cant stay on that as its for recovering dogs and costs a fortune. The bill so far is £1800 for last week we are insured up to £2000 but what if this happens again. Can anyone put my mind at rest is this common she showed no signs of this until last week I feel so sorry for her this big scar on her tum a sore bum poor thing. Any advice gratefully received.
