just because the kc dont have a standard does not mean that they are not a breed after all there are over 400 dog breeds but only about 150 reconised by the kc
Even Clydesdale and shire horses used to have their tails docked, because the long hair got caught up in the wheels..... all they have to do is plait the tail and bandage up.
this was done because they thought it made their backs of draft horses stronger :evil:not because the tail hair would get caught up in the wheels. The wheels of a cart is to far away from the tails they usualy dipped the stump in tar afterwards to prevent infection
the reason some dogs have their dew claws removed is to prevent them being ripped of when they are running thru brush which is far far more painfull for them believe me, murphy my 12 year old staffy xlab did it last year
i have read on some sites people saying that the only good dog is a dead dog its very upsetting to us who love and respect our dogs like alot of people have already said ANY dog has the ability to bite it is up to the owners of every dog to make sure that they train their animals to be well behaved BUT i must also say its up to the parents of every child to teach their children how to behave around animals far to often kids just run up to a dog in the street to pet them without knowing how to approach them
hi i owned an ebt she was the sweetest dog on the planet once she had been trained :roll:which her previous owner hadnt bothered to do she was as sharp as a tack she could put lights on and off open all kinds of doors and cupboards she passed away 5 years ago and i still miss her very much she has left a huge gap in my heart i hope you get yours soon
unfortunatly some people have used the name Irish staff to import pit bulls so now the poilce think that all irish staffs are pits(especally in liverpool at the moment) which they are not. The irish staff has been breed from english dogs in ireland since the 1930 and have kept the orignal standard for the breed being a taller more athletic dog than what we see as staffordshire bull terriers today which IMP can look a bit stumpy
