Neopolitan Mastiff

I think animal testing is a terrible idea. They get all nervous and then they give the wrong answers.

This is a Neopolitan Mastiff.  Rest of the pics at http://www.gentlegiantsrescue.com/neapolitan_mastiffs.htm

It is however not a good idea to have Neos with very small babies as they are very big dogs and can seriously hurt a small child quite unintentionally just by stepping on them or wagging their tails.

Here are mine:

The first pic was my first Neo, Pluto, shortly before his death from cancer in May this year.  The second pic is my baby Wraith and the third is Venus, my 17 month old.  Needless to say, having even one of these dogs means never having a properly clean house again!   Laughing

Wraith, your dogs are beautiful.  People think I'm mad for wanting a dog that drools and weighs more than I do lol.

Hey Sarah and Rupert,

My name is actually Gillian.  I used little Wraith's name for posting.  Thanks for the comments on my babies.  The first two were not very typey, but we have great hopes for Wraith. She shows for the first time on Sunday in an open show.  I need to get her used to the hubbub of the show world.  It's hard to believe that she is over 15 kg at 13 weeks, isn't it?  She still looks so small in the photos.

Nothing to blush about, Sarah (I'm sure Rupert can't!)  Laughing ....

Wraith is not really that heavy for a Mastino pup.  My boy was 24 kg at 12 weeks... a  little oversized if you ask me.  15 kg at this stage is about right.  They are VERY fast growing so I have to try to slow it down.  Careful feeding and less calcium than other breeds.  Thanks for the good wishes btw.  Not really worried about winning, just getting her used to all the dogs and people.
