You may be familiar with Connie, my 2 yr old collie cross.
We think that she is definately part sight hound (most likely pharoah hound) just from the way she acts.
Loves to chase, very gentle, extremely fast.
She acts most like a pharoah, and if you hold her ears up looks like one too!
She is very thin, and has a long muzzle, but she isn't as tall as most luchers I've seen.
I think she has a lot of things in her, she's basically a mongrel, but seems mostly to be sighthound and collie.
Would she be classed as a lurcher or not?

Since a lurcher is any cross between a sight hound and either a terrier or herding breed, that makes Connie a lurcher.  They come in many sizes depending on the breeds involved.

Show us a piccie please Rachel to remind us
It's unlikely she has Pharoah hound in her, there aren't many of those about in the UK I dont think.  But a combination of other breeds might bring out those sorts of looks.
Have you got a good picture for us to have a gander at? (and I'm not just saying that because I want to swoon over your lurcher girl!) Laughing Very Happy

Lol!
Here is my pic - sorry its so big - what do you think?
She looks less thin than she is, you need to feel her under all that fur to get a proper idea! She does act like a lot of the lurchers I know, so I'm guessing that's what she is, but do you get long haired lurchers? She does seem to have a particular interest in others of a similar type - greyhounds etc.
The black one's Wilbur - definately NOT a lurcher!!  Very Happy

There's got to be collie in her somewhere with that lovely fluffy coat and the ears, I'd be tempted to say some lab by the chocolate nose and lovely coat colour, and if she looks lurchery when standing up, whippet or grey?  Maybe not lurchery at all - perhaps rough collie, who knows - but I can tell you one thing - she's absolutely gorgeous *swoon*  Very Happy

She's really beautiful,  I'd agree with Lisa, lab x collie?  certainly doesn't look like any lurchers that I've seen!

Yeah, she doesn't really look lurchery, but if you feel underneath all that fur she is definately the right shape - deep chested, very lanky and skinny, but the vet says not underweight.
Also when she really gets running she's faster than any collie I've seen!
But she could be anything really, I call her a mystery dog!
