My one-year old dog, Astra is fetch obsessed. I love to play fetch with her, but not all the time. When we are having dinner, watching tv, or anything, she always wants to play fetch. She'll put a ball or other toy in someone's lap and then sit and wait for us to throw it. If we don't throw it she'll grab the toy and put just put it on our lap again. If we still don't throw it, she'll bark and whine. What can I do so that we aren't constantly being bugged to play fetch?

Tie the toy to something on the other side of the room.

I think animal testing is a terrible idea. They get all nervous and then they give the wrong answers.

Ok, I'll try that. See, the thing is that shes a hunting dog and we just aren't hunting people. So its in her nature to always want to play fetch and stuff. But it really does get annoying

One of mine does that but I just have to be really firm and say 'NO LEAVE IT GO AND LIE DOWN' and he usually gets the message!!! It took a few years for him to stop trying it on all the time though and even now he will do it if we have a new unsuspecting visitor! Laughing
