Any Miniature Pinscher owners out there?

Any advice on a yapping dog - she gets very vicious when she sees other dogs and other people, especially children.  She is so small, how do I punish her??

I have a 1 yr old min pin,she is the yappiest thing so your not alone, she whines at everything even when the wind.  I have not found any good ideas to stop this,I think it is just there breed unfortunately,  I really have not met anyone with this breed.  Is your min pin tiny? Mine is about 8 pds probably the biggest she is gonna get.  I have two boys 11 and 5 and she just tears at there socks,I dont know how to stop her from that.  And I dont let her out much because she eats EVERYTHING anything that she can swallowing and Im scared she is gonna choke on something. I would love to talk with you about min pins.

At the moment I have six min pins Embarassed I love them....They just are like that. They need so much training and stuf to do.Other wice they behaves like little kids. They are very loveable and gentle when you have earn theyr trust.Min pin think that you need protection and thats why they are doing like that.

When I see that other dog is comeing I will take another route.I just said to dogs that we are now going in this way.You have to train your dog how she can contack other dogs. When she is nice you must thak her....It takes time but will be worth it....by the way...I`m new and my english is not so good...hope you understand what I`m trying to say.

This is my first time owning a minpin. Boy what a wake up call. I read all the info I could get on them. Always thinking, naaaw cant be that bad. At the moment my biggest frustration is potty training. We can go out and be successful and 5 minutes later she is peeing on the floor! I know she is still young, but I also know she has the idea that she needs to go outside, and she is just being defiant. She goes all night usually, so I know she can hold it. Any tips on curing this problem would be fantastic! About being barky, I read about that as well, but my maisy is not that barky. She does bark at people in the street or other dogs, but just a few barks, and then she's not bothered about it.  Other than that I havent had a problem with it. We have just started puppy classes which I think are really important. Socializing dogs is beneficial not only to the dog but for people as well. The dogs learn simple commands which can be very useful  when you are out and about. Oh yeah, my maisy also will eat everything in sight. Some things I let pass if I know its not going to hurt her, but other things that are not good to eat,  I have been teaching her the "leave it" command. Its going pretty good, but of coarse there are those days where she is totally deaf and I end up chasing her and digging it out of her mouth.
Looks like it has been a long time since anyone has posted here. I hope I get some replies.  Smile

When it comes to toilet training you should NOT use any products that contain bleach to clean areas in your home which your dog has access to, because bleach contains ammonia and the smell will encourage the dog to urinate in these places.

On the subject of yapping Min Pins are well known for being Yappy dogs, this can be curtailed with lot of patience on the owners part, you will need to ignore the yapping and only give the dog attention when he or she is quiet, the dog will eventually realise that yapping is not getting the desired result (your attention)
