I am a member of quite a few forums, some about animals, others about health issues and I have to say we don't get anyone logging on that isn't there for the obvious reasons.

I can't believe how many people are logging onto this forum posting topics that have nothing to do with dogs, let alone the amount of sexual posts.

Is there nothing that can be done, it's very annoying.

Unfortunately it is automated software that attacks certain forums and posts spam (it is not actual people but a program). I have asked our technical staff if there is any extra measures we can take to prevent it happening rather than us relying on spotting it and then deleting the posts. I am waiting to hear from our developers and hopefully we can prevent it without any drastic action which might make the site less accesible.

Thanks for the clarification, hopefully there is some protection they can put in place to stop it from happening.

it is a very lucrative buisness, for the spammer, one link activated costs the person £1 per activation and a further £1.50 per min spent looking at the link itself.

i am not one to give kudos to these sick people who do this at all, but wanted to warn anyone thinking of clicking on any link you are not entirly sure of.

also most spammers log the ip number and use this info to access your details and add that info to other spammers and virus makers.... so the lesson here is be carefull wat you click onto.
