Hi to everyone who runs this forum first of all, not sure which area i was to post this question, sorry.  I bought a Golden Retreiver Puppy, she is now 5 months old, bought her when she was 8 week old.  I know at the end of the day its only pedigree papers but im feeling like i have been taken for a ride here, I keep getting promised i will receive my papers in the post from the breeder, bust still...........nothing, I bought my dog maggie for a wopping £700, alot more than i was hoping to spend but fell in love with her and had to bring her home, she is a 7th pedigree of champions as i was told by the breeder and it would just be nice to see her history.  What do I do? Its a long way to drive back to where i bought her from and I am told the woman who i bought her from has been diagnosed with an illness so i dont want to pester but feel im being fobbed off with that being the reason behind it.  Can I go strait to a higher body? like Kennel Club for example, any advice?

hi there, I'm currently waiting for my pedigree papers too, our pup is 15 weeks old.  We were told by the breeder that once the pups had gone to their new homes (8 in the litter) she would send all their papers together to the te Raad van Beheer Kynologie (dutch pedigree authorities) and they would send the new paper work to us and the transfer of ownership would then be complete.  This was mid September, and I will be checking in the next couple of weeks.  Although the breeder has been unwell you entered into a contract when you bought the pup and you should not feel bad about chasing this up.  Just out of curiosity do you have your pups pet passport or ownership registration papers?  Although we didnt have the registration papers we were given his passport with his microchip barcode id stuff when we picked him up, and it was explained to us that she would send the paperwork to the institute who would then send it to us, we were also given copies of his sire and dams pedigree papers to take with us to look at.

sorry, just had another thought, I'm not sure if there is access but you could check whether your pups kennel name is registered with the kennel club, obviously you might have done this before buying him, but if not it may give you peace of mind to see that the breeder is registered.  If they are registered with the KC then I would think it very unlikely they are trying to scam you.  I'm not sure how you would go about this, My pup is Dutch and they have listings of all registered breeders kennel names, so I dont know what the UK kc system is.

Hope this helps.

Hi get inbn touch with the KC asap. here click on thihttp://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/about/contact_us.htmls

Most registrations are back with the breeder within 2 weeks so there  is no excuse by the breeder. You've paid alot of money for a pup so you are entitled to the papers.  Did you buy from a  reputable breeder? one that was recommended to you?  if so contact the Breed Club.  Good Luck x
