I think animal testing is a terrible idea. They get all nervous and then they give the wrong answers.

The act bans the breeding and sale or exchange of four kinds of dog - pit bull terriers, Japanese Tosas, the Dogo Argentinos, and the Fila Brasileiros. Cross-breeds of those dogs are covered by the law. that is all whats on bbc news, i do muzzle him as i think it controls him walking and trying to chew chicken bones i cant argue the fact that he shouldnt be muzzled or on a lead cause any dog should be muzzled and on lead around kids in public places people around my area (they fight dogs) thought my dog was a long legged staff(i didnt know they had them) in the dark only in the light and summer you see his red nose which can class him as a red nose pitt bull

Since the APBT is not recognised by the Government or the UK Kennel Club as a pure breed, the definition of a 'type known as a pit bull terrier' had to be legally designated. The Queen’s Bench Divisional Court decided in July 1993 that:
‘They could properly conclude that a dog was of the type known as the pit bull terrier if its characteristics substantially conformed to the American Dog Breeders Association’s standard.’
The standards for the APBT are however, extremely vague by UK pure breed standards. This means that many dogs, regardless of parentage could be considered a ‘pit bull type’. Hundreds of crossbred dogs and their owners have suffered as a result of this definition. It is even more difficult for owners to fight these cases because the burden of proof lies with the defence. The owner has to prove to the court that the dog is not a ‘pit bull type’ rather than the police having to prove that it is.
From 1992 to 1997, at least 770 destruction orders were made against dogs under this Act. There were thirteen dogs that had exhausted all legal process while awaiting destruction and seven dogs in limbo, as there were no legal proceedings against them but the police refused to return them to their owners. Dogs held in limbo may be kept by the police indefinitely, at a cost to the British taxpayer of £23,000 per year.

That dog could be confiscated and destroyed. Did you know it was a PB when you bought it?
Personally I just don't understand why the dogs being called a Pit Bull or Pit Bull mix when that isn't certain. Just asking for trouble in my opinion. The nose on this chocolate Lab http://pics.hoobly.com/full/ffcb5453b0c891ff3b1e39adc7ecabd0.jpgdoesn't look much different to the nose on this red nose Pit to me http://www.bryantsreddevils.com/Kain/KainPic_2.htmSaying the dog is almost certainly a Pit cross due to nose colour seems a little silly to me, I know a few dogs with the colour nose on those pics, most of them certainly don't have any Pit in there. And a lot of mixed breeds have apparently been mistaken for Pit Bulls. Bit like someone insisting my friends BC cross was a Chow cross because of her tail.
