Smart....check
Gourgeous....check
good size...check
Responsive...check

the list is endless....okay i do love ALL dogs but i grew up with a shepherd and now have a new one so they are my perfect breed. I have not yet seen a breed that doesn't have brilliant qualities, some are (almost) as perfect as the GSD. I must say my heart melts for a great dane also, i prefer big dogs but you can't beat a cuddle with C.K.C Spaniel or even a good lil Chihuaua but as every breed is perfect for someone mine is just the simple German Shepherd my heart is with them always

I have had them for a few years! All rescue and everytime we lose one I say "that's it no more bloomin' Shepherds!"

Within weeks I am lamenting the fact that I have no gsd and off I  go to my friend who is a a trustee of Vigil gsd and say " got any shepherds for me?" Off I go again.
My current one has one blue eye and was thrown out of a car...you couldn't meet a nicer dog! There is definately something about them that gets under your skin!

Thrown out of a car, thats a disgrace, people like that don't deserve thinking about. yeah they are just such beautiful animals i couldn't live without there gentle nature, but some how i always felt safe with my old chap, even though the most damage he could do i drown an intruder with kisses hehe

Yes thrown out of a car, his paws were all grazed and you can imagine the car phobia he had!
To begin with he would chuck up and empty his bowels everytime he went in a car. now he's fine and will travel with us happily to go on holiday.

I had another gsd who came via a car. A family went away and left this dog locked in the car, apparently, he sat there for two days waiting for them until someone broke in and got him out! He was a huge dog but a real gentleman.
Never did find the f----rs who did that to him!
