Hi Can anyone tell me is once a dog has colitis is it possible to recover if the cause was through an operation on her bowel. My poor doggie is slightly better but keeps having accidents which she hates as she thinks she has been naughty I dont tell her off but also dont want her to think its ok to poo in the house. When I told the vet she said give it a bit more time then come back but what might she do. She is our first dog and although we have had her 5 years have never experienced this before. I feel very alone with the problem can anyone help. By the way I love all the pics of the dogs on here I havent managed to work out how to put Honeys on will have a go. Thanks all you dog lovers. Happy Valentines day to you all! :

Hi I did not post this link before because I wanted to be sure that you had spoken to your vet re the condition.

Have a look on this excellent link and scroll down to IBD/Colitis etc which will give you some good ideas and supplements to try.

Managing colitis is about understanding the cause, eliminating it if possible and mitigating and controlling its effects by dietary manipulation.
