This thread is a difficult one for me. I spent about 8 years as a vegetarian, and then went back to eating meat after feeling not very well for a while and fainting lots, despite following a well balanced diet, as i'm not a fussy eater. I haven't had any period as a vegetarian since, although don't like eating meat daily (generally have meat or fish or chicken 2 or 3 times a week). I buy either organic meat, or from local butchers that are supplied by local farms, however still am never sure that it's good to eat it.
I would like to feel that i could support animal welfare through my food choices, and only buy meat I know is humanely sourced, as opposed to just avoiding it totally. But, I suppose you can never be sure can you...

If all meat was raised and slaughtered humanely then there would be a lot fewer vegetarians about. I am surprised though that you say you felt unwell on a vegetarian diet as I have never felt better and I am very reassured about my health as compared to meat eaters when I hear about things like vCJD. My three grandchildren are vegetarians and are very bonny.

Although it is sick that someone would eat dog just for a laugh and post it on youtube is inappropriate, I cannot condemn a whole culture for their choice of what and what not to eat. It is easy to judge from afar, but for many it is just a way of life.
Anyway if i was personally hungry enough i'd consider eating my best mate.

Are you a vegan type vegetarian Sarabe??? or do you eat cheese/eggs/milk etc i always wondered what the true difference was between vegetarians and vegans. Also is it really as easy to switch as ppl say or do you crave meat,i must admit it is something i don't know a lot about, but i would like to know more9i should try making some vegetarian meals that would be a good idea).

yes I was surprised too, as I did eat lots of different things. It was when i was a teenager though, and growing lots, so perhaps that had an impact. The time I fainted and fell against a door, trapping my finger in it and nearly chopping it off was enough to make me re-consider giving meat another go to try to prevent it happening again. I've only fainted once since then in 15 years, and that was on a hot tube train in August (fairly embarassing).
However, I'm sceptical about it being the meat that remedied it, since I don't eat much of it anyway, and cook lots of vegetarian meals at home, (and for my boyfriends parents, which I don't think they fully appreciate!)! Haaahahah.
perhaps it is time to re-assess the benefits.

Are you a vegan type vegetarian Sarabe? I am a vegetarian. I wish I had the will power to be a vegan. I don't miss meat at all. In fact the thought of it makes me nauseas (apart from the smell of bacon sarnies)

You can go into the clip and then flag it as inappropriate without watching it all. It depicts a group of guys around a table with the cooked "meat" central - it is obvious that some are uncomfortable with trying it. The more who flag it - the more chance it'll be removed.

I think youtube has just been 'done' for things inappropriate. Be careful what you believe that may have not actually been dog meat and from my time working on film sets I would say was a pure set up. Can never be sure and it needs to be complained about just for the suggestion anyway, but don't get too upset folks it may just be a con!
