About what kind of dog i would like when i am older.
Lol ive really been thinking of a saluki
What kind of dog do you think suits me?
I like active dogs who are willing to play fetch and go for a jog.
A Animal and dog friendly.
Human Friendly.
you all seem to know me very well. so i think you all could help lol.
id like to do research about them.
I also wouldnt mind a high matience dog for when i am older.
ive always loved fluffy dogs.
But i do like dogs like salukis where they are not very fluffy but still have long hair.
I also love afghan hounds.
Lol you might all say think about it when your older but even when i try im always wondering.

they are :)
I love Salukis.
But, given that I'm not posh enough to own, sorry, share air space with an Afghan, of the hounds, I love the Borzois the most and that would be the one for me.
There's something a bit special about most of the dogs in the hound group though.

I love hounds too, but the tall elegant ones, stunning though they are, are not for me.
Otterhounds are my fave hound - substantial, shaggy and scruffy, with a voice that can curdle the blood. And then a whippet for cuddles.

I'm not a huge hound fan, too leggy and slim for me, give me a robust, chunky spitz any day ;)
That's what makes the world so interesting everyone being attracted to different things... and no way accident prone snowy can have a Saluki, she'd fall on it and break it lol

that is the best thing about dogs, they are all dogs, yet we all have such varied taste in them. Im no fan of mega short coats, Kerrie is the shortest cost I would go with ) much prefer big hairy beasts ( but no slobber or squished faces please! )

You could have a Basset - nothing slim or leggy about them! Or a beagle. Beagles are very nice, jolly, little dogs (but a bugger for recall).

Benny's not as bad as he used to be, his mouth has tightened up, but still he can generate a pile, shaking it up and down the walls!!!

Nope, I can't be doing with slobber either. It's vile. My friend's GR could shake his head and do projectile slobbering - great strings of it, like melted mozzarella.
You don't get that with terriers. Their mouths shut tight like the seal on a fridge door, nothing gets out of there alive!

I adore beagles too, and the OH is convinced that we will have a Basset ( not in this lifetime, sunshine! )

Basset Griffon Vendeen for you then! Scruffy, shaggy, hairy and utterly endearing. If that's too small, otterhounds.

Now who could resist one of those? They are real gentle giants, too. Lola met a fully grown otterhound at Discover Dogs when she was a tiny 4 month puppy (and she was exceedingly small at 4 months, for some reason). They played together and this huge dog was so gentle with her I couldn't believe it. He had enormous paws that could have flattened her, but was dainty as anything.

I adore beagles too,
I like the way they walk. They have a very businesslike strut, as though they're off on an important mission.

I do like salukis and looked at getting one after I had pepper a couple of years, but they are more active than mine and I was told by a breeder that they can be a bit clingy.
It has to be ex racers and lurchers (smooth haired), whippets and italian greyhounds for me, I love the elegant lines and the grace of them, but I also know that they are not fancy dogs, and despite the delicate looks very robust (except when it comes to sharp things and their skin).
On my wish list is Cavaliers, chinese crested (either type), poodles and wire haired fox terriers.
NTM I can imagine you with a few dogs, mastiffs would be one breed, probably Chows, I cannot imagine you with a spaniel or any of the gundog group, more of the pastrol, utility and working groups.
