I have joined POP and from what I've read, I think it's a brilliant innovation. I just can't sign this though. It's this bit -

"agree that we are fundamentally opposed to the notion of breed specific legislation"

If it had said DDA instead of BSL, then no problem but I can't agree that all breeds are equal when it comes to probability of inflicting serious injury.

Fair enough.

I actually agree with you. It is certainly not the case that all breeds are equal when it comes to probability of inflicting serious injury. It simply can't be.

But the law as it stands means that any dog that fits a certain profile, is condemned to death. Regardless of what it has ever done in its life. The DDA, on the whole is not that bad a law, it is the part that summararily condemns certain breed types that I, personally have a problem.

Is a Staffy x Mastiff more physically capable than a Prese Canario?

Yet one of those has a chance of being seized and PTS based on its physical appearance and one doesn't.

I respect your decision POD, you know your onions. But on the issue of section 1 in its current format, I can't agree that the law is fair.

I agree with everything you say here Ryan. The flaws you outline are concerned with our specific DDA and not BSL in principle.

Ahh. I see.

Thanks for clarifying.

I'm still opposed to the BSL principle, personally. But it's always worthwhile to hear every angle discussed.

I have a copy of the UK electoral register. So, naturally, rather than using it for business purposes as it was intended, I spent hours looking up funny names.

Mary Monkey.

Now there's a funny name.

that is funny, I am trying to find my gran but couldn't get hold of the electoral register to see if she was still at her old address, unfortunatly, I have the horrible feeling she may have passed away, I would never find out as I have no contact with that side of the family :(

I spent hours looking up funny names.

I can remember a certain video clip of Fern and Philip discovering that there actually were 2 people with the name "Hugh Janus", then being unable to speak for several minutes!

Suprising how many people have the 'c' word as a surname. Sometimes it might be spelled with a 'k' but even so, there's no amount of accent you could put on it to make it sound anything other than what it is written like.

There was one obvious sports headline that all the papers missed a few years ago, when England were knocked out of some football tournament (again!) by the germans (again!!), and the latter had a player with a certain name who I seem to recall played very well on the night. I fully expected the headline to simpy read, "KUNTZ!", but all the papers seemed too shy to do it!

Ryan

I he was certainly a KUNTZ in my house that night. I remember it well.

So do I - it's always such a pleasure to see England go out of a tournament, especially to Germany or Argentina, on penalties, after an iffy handball decision by the ref!

(Yes I am fully prepared for the abuse I will take for that comment!)

I don't understand a word of what you just said. Is it another language? I just don't understand sport... well thats not exactly true, I understand Icehockey and Basketball.

Whilst I disagree with the content, I 100% agree with the sentiment.

In sport, in my view, there is nothing quite so rewarding than seeing your enemies go down in flames in the worst, most painful way possible. Whenever we (Wolves) play West Brom I am always praying, not for us to roll them over 5-0 in a massacre, no. Ideally I want them to completely out play us for 90 minutes, hitting the bar and post 18 times in the match and having two perfectly good goals rule out, only for us to score a handballed, offside winning goal in the 8th minute of injury time.

That is what sport's all about (for a fan with a mind like mind anyway).
