If you do a web search for labrador (or labrador retriever) - it should come up with lots of breed information pages - read into the breed as much as you can and then decide on whether you can offer them the home they need :)
It all depends on your circumstances, where you live (house or flat, do you have a garden, what are the fences like etc), whether you work, how much spare time you have, whether you can afford it (vets fees for vaccinations, neutering, flea treatment, worming, nails clipping - and then also accidents and illnesses, and then training classes, boarding when you go on holiday, dog walkers if you work etc etc), and whether you have the time and patience (and energy!) to spare to train him/her :)
So cant say whether you should adopt one or not - but these are the kind of things a rescue will want to know when they do your homecheck. And it's a very hard decision to make!
Labs are energetic dogs, yes very cute, but also lots of hard work (same as any pup really - but more so in the working breeds IMO).
But if you feel that you can give them everything they need, and can do that for the next 10-15 (or more?) years - then go for it!
And it's really great to see people considering rescue dogs - wish all prospective owners thought of them first! :D
Good luck!
