Hi jackie. I don't have snauzers myself, but two of the best behaved dogs I have ever met were two miniature snauzers who belonged to a deaf couple.

Often quite 'yappy' little dogs, these two rarely muffed as there really wasn't much point in attention seeking by barking.

They both worked extremely well for their owners (all sign language) and were the most well-mannered dogs you could wish to meet.

I lost track of the couple some 18 months ago when they moved out of the area, but I'm absolutely certain that these two will still be stealing hearts where ever they go.

I can believe it,they are so bright!
My two are alway's stealing heart's, especialy the standard Toby. He has very soft eye's and such a poser, he prance's every where.
Where the mini pup is a naughty little monkey, he like's to think that he is boss and unfortunatly is a yapper.

I have a Schnauzer. He was picked up as a stray a few years ago and is estimated to be about 7ish years old. He's a fun dog. He's quite a chatty fellow, but he's good company. His name is Simon. :)

I have a mini schnauzer bitch. and she is an absoloute gem of a dog.
She is now 18mths old, and apart from the 'yapping' (when a leaf blows by, when the door bell rings, when a bird sings, when someone is talking etc etc) she is perfect.
I got her with the intention of breeding her with my brothers mini schnauzer, but alas, she has a little problem with overbite on her lower jaw, so perhaps no puppies.

:D Hi

Sidmouth isn' t very far from me! It's lovely there, I lived next door in Exmouth for a year. I live on the edge of Dartmoor just off the A38.

My mini Alfie is just the same, never quiet -sometimes he yaps at thin air  !
Alfie is a black and silver 9 month handful! He is so different to the other min we had, Ben was very quiet  !

I also have a standard called Toby who is 7 this year, he is really gentle boy.

They really are brilliant wee pets! I have a mini schnauzer, Zak, who I used to compete in agility with before I left to go to uni. (with a nice big boxful of rosettes to show for our efforts!)

He was such a quick learner, can do all sorts of tricks, such as crawling "commando-style" across the floor, rolling over, all of which he'll do to either voice commands only or hand signals on their own!

I've heard of a schnauzer that could pick up whe it's owner was about to have an epileptic fit and warn her- very smart dog!

I have 2 Miniatures and they are gorgeous!!

Schnauzers are popular round here - there are 2 Standard ones, and around 8 Minis who regularly walk on my local park.....at certain times of the day they sometimes outnumber Labradors ;D

I have Wilma, black giant schnauzer ,aged 13 months,on another site schnauzers have been nicknamed the velcro dogs it suits them well,i can,t even visit the bathroom without a hairy black escort.
She is very fun loving, loves people and dogs, and is attempting to get to know the local ducks a little better, don,t think they are so keen though ;D.

;DHi, i found this forum by chance on google i hope you don't mind the intrusion, I have a gorgeous 9 week old black and silver mini schnauzer boy we have called alfie. He is the smallest chap from a litter of 7 boys my mum bred from her lovely girl. mum let me help missy give birth to the last 3 pups of which alfie was the last and smallest (he weighed 5oz) he now weighs only 3lb, i feel in love with my boy when he was born so i am lucky i have seen him daily since birth. How easy is it to train mini schnauzer's, any advice would be great.
