Default Had to take Ellie to the vets tonight :(

My little girl's all sore

Just sat down this evening to drink my tea and brushed her chin with my toe and she went through the roof,Chris thought I'd trodden on her!
I had a look and she squealed again,I tried to move her lip down to see if it was a tooth but her lip and Jaw were so swollen it was stiff

I got straight on the phone to the vet and took her down there,he has given her 2 injections,an anti-inflammatory and a painkiller,he thinks she has taken a knock and may have cracked her jawbone, poor little girl.

Anyway he said he can't tell while it's so inflamed,he's booked her in for an anaesthetic tomorrow just in case she needs an op or an x-ray or both.

She's not too bad in herself tonight but a little clingy.

Keep your fingers crossed for her,I have to take her in first thing

She gets so distressed at the vets, she has sep anx and howls constantly so I'm praying she'll be ok

Thanks guys No change so they've taken her in,he's going to give her x-rays and a full exam.

She has had a sedative straight away so I hope she won't get too distressed

I have to phone at 1ish if I've not heard anything.

Fingers crossed

Well he says it's an infection that has travelled down one of her front canines,it's a tooth she chipped when she was just a puppy and the vets have always told me to leave it unless it causes trouble,he decided not to remove it because the infection has gone into the bone and removing a tooth that size is apparently a nasty job at the best of times.

Anyway good news is I can pick her up at 3.30 and she'll be sent home with extremely strong anti-biotics....phew

I'll know more when I've had more of a chat with him.
