Default Sneezing

Teasel was spayed last wednesday. She has been absolutely fine since she came back except she seems to be sneezing a lot. We noticed it soon after she came home and thought it may be a side effect from the anaesthetic, but it has continued now for nearly a week.

She is due back to the Vet on Saturday for her stitches out but I may ave to ring them tomorrow as the sneezing hasn't gone away.

It isn't anything major she only sneezes occasionally but when she does she seems to have bouts of it, but it is noticeable as she never did it before she went in.

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced anything similar?

Possible cough type bug? Likely to be picked up in vets as well as kennels or other high populated dog areas.

I could be wrong but have seen coughs manifest in just sneezing in the past.

Is it distressing her at all? Is she still eating, happy etc?

She is absolutely 100% fine... Mind you I think it would take something incredibly serious to put Teasle off her food

She is incredibly happy and wants to bounce around - I am having to keep a close eye on her to calm her down as she is still on restricted exercise after the op.

It seems to be when she first gets up after a long sleep, or when she gets excited, such as when we take her out for a walk etc..

I did wonder if it could be some sort of kennel cough type bug. If it is I hope Louie doesn't pick it up

Sounds a possibility....having worked in kennels and rescue centres for 20 odd years where my dogs are always with me I have seen a fair bit of it.

Personally if one of my young, fit, dogs get a bout of it I just help them through with a little honey etc every morning and night. I very rarely use antibiotics (in agreement with my vet) in order that my guys fight it themselves and build an immunity. I tend to find they get it once or twice and never again.

I ain't a vet of course so you must do what you think is right

Never encountered this LD. But Xigi's suggestion sounds a possibility!

Hope all back to normal very soon for you all.
