Default working for an animal charity ?

Just a thought - my hubby works for WSPA ( World Society for the Protection of Animals ) he has worked in almost all the countries around the globe on animal welfare projects and currently is WSPA's Middle East projects director - working with governments on ways of dealing with the horrendous stray dog and cat problem they have in the region - he has also worked on setting up bear sanctuaries for bears used in bear baiting and in the 'dancing bear' tourist trade. He worked extensively in Korea and China on campaigns to stop the dog meat market, Bear bile factories and the skinning of cats and dogs for the fur trade. plus many many other campaigns.

These types of jobs are few and far between and are not initially well paid but they do exist and the opportunity is there to 'work your away up ' so it's worth droppping some of the big charities a line if you think you could do this kind of work.

Id love to work for something like that, I did consider volunteering on some conservation places before I met the OH/got Kerrie. I do donate money to the WSPA and I foster dogs here, so i am doing my part

Love the bear one! What an amazingly rewarding and emotionally exhausting job.

I'd love to work in Borneo and/or Sumatra with the orangutans. I think it's criminal, the way rainforest is being destroyed to make way for palm oil plantations - and boycotting anything containing palm oil seems impossible. It's in everything. We're told it's essential for biofuels to Save The Planet - how can destroying whole ecosystems be saving the planet? Lunacy!

So I do all I can to help the orangutan charities.
